Thought for today.
When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?

About a book...
There is a book on the best sellers list right now. I will not say the title. I do not wish to argue its merits or message. I only want to say I will not be reading it.
Why?
It was something I read on the inner flap of the dust cover. The author asserts that you have no answers inside yourself. You must look to an external source to find your understanding of God. (His book?)
Well doesn't that just fly in the face of what THE main Christian book says?
The kingdom of God cometh not with observation; neither shall they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:20-21)
Am I an atheist?
"An atheist may be simply one whose faith and love are concentrated on the impersonal aspects of God." Simone Weil
After-thoughts to a conversation I had with someone I love and respect...
Am I an atheist if I say I don't believe in YOUR God?
I guess I am... according to your definition of God.
I prefer to say I'm areligious (not practicing a religion; indifferent to or uninfluenced by a religion) in a sense, and still I believe all religions have something to offer.
